AntifragilityAnti-pattern

Fragilista

Фрагилиста · Хрупкист

Someone whose actions reliably make systems more fragile while sounding smart. The well-meaning destroyer.

Plain explanation

Fragilistas optimise locally, miss the system, suppress small failures, prevent variation, demand prediction in unpredictable domains, and add complexity in the name of safety. They are never wrong on their own terms - and yet the system breaks under them.

Why it matters

The fragilista is usually a respected expert. Their fragility footprint is invisible because they speak fluently. Recognising the pattern matters more than the credentials.

Practical example

A consultant who introduces «process» everywhere, replaces craftsmanship with checklists, and measures everything until the act of measuring becomes the work.

How to use
  1. 1Track the fragility footprint of any advisor over time. Did the system get more or less robust under them?
